Oscar Urbina Premieres ‘Carousel’ Feat. Mogli the Iceburg on That’s Enuff | @TheOscarUrbina | Following the release of Oscar Urbina’s song and video, “Teacher Chronicles,” the Miami emcee returns with a new track, “Carousel,” featuring a guest verse from Mogli the Iceburg. The audio premiered Monday on DJ Enuff’s ThatsEnuff.com and is available on iTunes and other online retailers. The introspective “Carousel” uses the amusement park ride as an analogy for measuring progress in life. “A Carousel is disguised with bright lights, horses, and music in order to distract us from the never ending cycle of the ride, and its lack of adventure,” Urbina explains. “This is life in a nutshell, a never ending cycle that many of us fall victim to as we become zombies to the mundane repetition that we experience day in and day out.” Urbina expounds on the concept in his verse atop sparse space-age synthesizers and easy drum patterns. “Carousels, they be crushing the dreams of many fiends / Addicted to the same routines / I call it the new nicotine.” indie tribe. member Mogli the Iceburg addresses the struggle to find work-life balance, rapping, “It’s hard right now, I try to adjust but the lifestyle’s new to me / And I don’t hang out with people back home / Because I feel like I’m missing opportunities.” He adds that he immediately related to the song’s message. “People don’t understand how much sacrifice this music takes,” he explains. “I’m 24 right now, and this is a prime time in life for so many things that I am totally dedicating to music. Sometimes the opportunity cost is great. I have peers that are buying houses, getting married, having kids, starting businesses, etc. I’m putting my time and investments in music and doing all I can to make sure I’m not stuck in this cycle (carousel) of just working toward something without seeing growth.” “Carousel” appears on Urbina’s mixtape, MP2 Darkness, out on April 11. Earlier this month, Urbina’s “Teacher Chronicles” song premiered on Rapzilla and the video debuted on HipHopDX. Miami’s Fox affiliate WSVN interviewed Oscar for a segment for their Deco Drive entertainment program.   The post Oscar Urbina Premieres ‘Carousel’ Feat.
