THE SITDOWN is a live Q+A event, founded by veteran MC – Icie – where music artists,personalities,entrepreneurs sit down to share their life stories in a bid to empower and inspire others.
The idea was birthed after he had numerous conversations with fellow artists who were dealing with the hardships of life behind the scenes,while at the same time having to maintain a social media construct and representation so far removed from their reality.
The Sitdown aims to bring down that wall and give artists, personalities and entrepreneurs a VOICE. A voice that can accurately depict what it’s like behind the scenes in intimate and open space.
“I wanted to create a platform that could be a type of safe haven to those in the public sphere,a place they could drop their shoulders and be free..be REAL with their fans.”

At a time when social media interaction is favored above any form of human interaction, The Sitdown seeks to encourage people to come from behind their screens, meet new people and share the joy of having the same likes and passions.
“Live events will always live forever, if people find something they can relate to and connect with it,this creates a sense of unity that social media can’t rival. I contemplated making this a Youtube channel but I didn’t want to continue to reinforce the ‘screen divide’ – we all need human interaction it’s a basic need that is full of richness. ”
