DMV Gospel Artist Michelle Bennett Releases First Album “I Finally Found My Place” | @minmichelleb | Psalmist & Preacher Michelle Bennett releases a 5-Track EP that marks her journey in finding her authentic voice in the gospel industry with a commitment to share the message of God’s love with a pure heart. Michelle Bennett officially releases her first gospel album, “I Finally Found My Place,” a 5-track EP produced by Rose M. Harper and Darien Dennis. Raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, Michelle tapped into her musical gifts at a very young age. She took her rich and compelling voice to Chicago, Illinois singing for Visions-A Choral Ministry, and later Just Friends. In 2010, Michelle relocated to the D.C. metropolitan area where she most recently served as the Minister of Music at Victory Grace Center in Bladensburg, MD from 2015 to 2017. Michelle has shared the stage with gospel recording artists such as Kurt Carr, Rance Allen, Lisa Page Brooks, VaShawn Mitchell, Lonnie Hunter, Dorothy Norwood, and the late Albertina Walker, just to name a few. Bennett is a proud member of the Baltimore campus of All Nations Worship Assembly, under the leadership of Apostle Yolanda and Pastor Kori Stith. After many years of singing and providing background vocals for notable DMV talent and gospel groups, Michelle saw a musical void in the gospel industry. “I noticed many of the gospel artists sounded the same,” stated Michelle. “God birthed the vision within me to release a project, not to duplicate anyone else but to deliver what He gave me. I believe that it’s pure, it’s original, and it doesn’t try to replicate other artists. Instead, it sings the melody of the song in its truest essence,” she continued. “I Finally Found My Place” is a 5-track EP that compels listeners to understand that the greatest place is to be at the feet of Jesus. The album is a demonstration of Michelle’s heart for God and it invites you to join the journey. During Michelle’s journey in developing the album, she realized the struggles women face in the gospel industry on a daily basis, ” We often have to find our voice in a very competitive world, fighting to gain the same recognition as our male counterparts, which leads to not having a true sisterhood,” she mentioned. “Instead, we fight ourselves, struggling to find our place,” Michelle continued. “I Finally Found My Place” truly exemplifies Michelle’s journey and encourages believers to keep pushing and pressing even when odds are stacked against them. The official cd release concert is scheduled for April 7th, 2018 with special guests to include gospel artists Corey Kennedy and James Murphy.
