Leah Smith Releases Her First Full Length Album, Tenderheaded | @LeahSmithMusic | Singer/Songwriter/Musician Leah Smith recently released her debut album, Tenderheaded, on June 8th 2018. Leah was formerly a member of Grammy award-winning gospel group Israel and New Breed and has shared stages with Grammy award-winning artists such as Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys, and John Legend. Her first project, Beautifully Made, was released in 2009 and fans have been patiently waiting for a full-length project since. TV/film actress and fan, Yvette Nicole Brown, mentioned one of the songs on the album, ” So…NUMB is my favorite thing ever! Got it on REPEAT!…Loving the album!! So happy you make music. Your voice, harmonies and melodies are BEYOND!!!!” You can expect this album to be soul-stirring, genre-bending, and authentic. Grammy award-winning producer, Glenn Barrett is featured on the album along with Dave James, a producer, and musician who’s also worked with R&B breakout star, Ari Lennox. Brandon Camphor, gospel recording, and performing artist is the executive producer of the album. Leah explains that the term “tenderheaded” is a metaphor for life and the painful and tedious processes that we all go through. “I made this record over the course of about four years. A while back I started seeing a therapist about depression and so much ground has been covered in our sessions. I’m learning to trace God’s hand through my life and experiences and make some sense out of my struggles! I truly believe that God is forming me day by day into what He wants me to be, and although I’ve struggled with depression, fear, disappointment, resentment and many other issues, I know I’m getting stronger and being spiritually built up as I trust Jesus more. The daily work is to look to Him and trust His rock-solid goodness despite what I feel. I hope this album encourages and inspires people. We all struggle in many ways. We’re all “tenderheaded”, BUT, the result of what God is doing in our lives is worth the momentary discomfort. I believe that!” Leah will be performing in NYC on Friday, July 6th at Rockwood Music Hall and she will also be joining Christian author Kim Cash Tate at her Cling Conference on June 22-23 on University of Maryland’s campus.
