Gambian Artiste, Francis Lans Releases New EP “Songs of Praise” | @manla_francLans | Gambian Christian rapper/Afro pop singer, Francis Lans has released his new EP “Songs of Praise”. Francis Lansalias God’s Favourite Rapper (Francis Lansana) is a Gambian Afro gospel singer/rapper. He was born in The Gambia by his Gambian mum and Sierra Leonean dad. Francis studied journalism and communication at the Media Academy for Journalism and Communication(MAJaC). He is also a video director with a wealth of experience, serving The Gambian Catholic Church. He started off in 2016 in a gospel group, “The Light”. After a year and few months, the group was dissolved and in 2018 he started a solo career. Since then, he has released several singles before working on his first ever gospel project, ‘Songs of Praise — the EP’. The EP has six tracks including a bonus track. Before it’s official release online, the EP was first launched on the 13th October, 2019 during the second edition of his annual gospel concert, ‘The DTD Concert’. Francis Lans is known for his very peculiar style of blending English, Aku and Wollof in his raps. This has helped him to quickly turn a lot of attention to his music. He has shared stage with great gospel names like Steve Crown, Arnorld K. Fofanah (Sierra Leone), Judah Zubairu (Sierra Leone), and a lot of the household names in the Gambia gospel scene. “The EP was inspired by a large cloud of thanksgiving birthed from the bitter experiences I had in my later days of Senior Secondary education and during the times I was seeking to gain knowledge in film-making. Songs of Praise is a series of songs of thanksgiving birthed by experience and encounters with how the bitter sting of live feels and how God helped me out of it.
