The young/talented folk singer who is based in China, said Dry Bones was written though not because of, but in a time where I was in between nothing, trusting for new beginnings, holding on to, and believing Jesus. I learnt that nothing is infinite unless it came from out of the mouth of God, and what He sings over us is songs of deliverance (Psalm 32:7). Though brief, in this song lies the question, the answer, and everything that might exist in between. “When I received this song about two years ago, I wasn’t sure where it was going. I’d heard of the story of dry bones before, but I’d never read it. So I wasn’t aware that the chorus quoted it in some way. My intention wasn’t to make Ezekiel 37 the theme, but on reading it, that’s what I did”, she said. We no longer wonder who will bring us salvation or where our help comes from, Jesus answers this.
