With an unusual ministry that is as strange as his name, Signs and Wonders is a force to be reckoned with in the arena of New Testament Worship.
From the surprisingly strong choice of words that flood the lyrics of his songs, to the unique texture of his anointed voice, Signs and Wonders is known to always move whole crowds of worshippers with nothing but the overwhelming Love of God.
Signs and Wonders shares the inspiration behind his new single this way;
“One day, I was about to teach during midweek service and decided to lead the church in worship with a couple of songs. I usually lead my people in New Testament Worship to get their hearts ready for the reception of the word. But this time was different.
That Wednesday evening, I suddenly had a strong impression to sing an entirely new song.
I felt the Spirit of God was inspiring me to sing but I didn’t know what the song will be. And to be honest, it scared me to my vocal cords!
I kept on thinking;
‘How will this sound?’
‘How will the people respond to this new song? ‘
‘What if I go off tune?’
‘Won’t I loose my reputation of being a good worship song leader if the song doesn’t make sense? ‘
‘And what if I get stuck due to lack of lyrics?’
All these and many more were the questions in my heart.
Don’t think all these happened in 30 minutes, this back and forth dialogue with myself, happened while I was on stage singing. I had these all questions running up and down my mind, scrambling for attention.
There were only two options;
I was either going to keep singing the songs I knew before and in doing so, resist the leading of the Spirit. Or I was going to yield and allow a gift be birthed.
Somehow, it dawned on me that I had magnified my feelings and people’s applause, more than I was yielding to the Spirit.
Immediately this happened, yet still with the fear in my heart, I decided to trust the Spirit.
My thought was this;
“It’s better I fail, trusting the Spirit of God than succeed with my doubts of what might happen if I put my trust in him”
As I opened my mouth to sing, the first word came, it made so much sense.
The next line of the song came, that was also wonderful.
At this point, I sang with more confidence line upon line, lyrics upon lyrics, verse upon verse and the whole place was charged.
Surprisingly I didn’t go off tune, the crowd responded very well to the song. We had a great time as the power of God hit the house.
Finally, the shocker came when the entire church learnt that the worship we had just enjoyed was a completely new song, and that I had learnt ‘ONE FAMILY’ with them as inspired by the Spirit”.
He has a serial record of attracting massive numbers of people who are eager to hear ‘The Gospel’, and is currently the Head Pastor at Grace Mark Church (a Youthful Expression of TNLRM).
