‘Empowered By Where You Are’ is the newest 6 track EP from music ministry EmpoweredBy featuring vocals from The Voice UK 2018 semi-finalist, Jason Nicholson-Porter.
Written and produced by Warren King, the founder of EmpoweredBy music ministry, this EP is the ministry’s second project in 2018 and features original Rock & Soul songs of prayer and praise that take the listener on a journey to encountering God where He is. Songs such as ‘In Your Presence’, (Nicholson-Porter’s personal favourite) a ballad about the beauty of being in God’s presence – a presence we can choose to be in.
Speaking on the theme of the EP Warren said, “A lot of the time we call God down to be where we are and to help us in our situations, it’s a lot of focus on us. But something challenged me to step out from where I am and try to go to where He is. Try and see where He dwells! The Bible says that ‘Heaven is His throne and the Earth His footstool’. But no king lives on a throne. They sit on a throne and they rule from a throne, but they also go elsewhere. So, my challenge was to answer, ‘Where is the elsewhere for God? Where is it that He dwells? Where is He?’ And that’s what this project is all about, tapping into where He is.”
Prior to the EP’s release, tracks ’Strawberries’ and ‘I Need You’ were released as singles in June and July 2018. Received well by radio and other Gospel media platforms the accompanying video to ‘I Need You’ can be currently viewed on TV channels TBN and Trace Gospel.

• About EmpoweredBy
EmpoweredBy is the music ministry movement founded by physician, Dr. Warren King, in 2017. The ministry collaborates with various vocalists to create a series of themed ‘EmpoweredBy…’ EPs that explore different topics of the Christian faith through musical expression. The aim of the ministry is to enhance the worship experience of believers as well as bring a deeper understanding of the topics. Warren has been involved in music for the past 25 years. He was a member of UK Gospel group ‘All ‘Bout Christ (ABC)’ who is best known for their popular track ‘I’m Letting Go’ released in 2010. He has also been a bass player in Bazil Meade’s London Community Gospel Choir (LCGC), played for Michelle Williams at Big Church Day Out 2017, and has played for multiple mainstream artists including Shaggy, Blue, and the Sugar Babes.
In addition to being a doctor and an instrumentalist Warren is also a song-writer and producer.

Currently known for wowing the British public with his Gospel performances on The Voice UK 2018 as part of Team JHUD, Jason Nicholson-Porter is a dynamic singer-songwriter whose passion and love for Praise and Worship resonates through his live and recorded performances.
The first born of nine children Jason was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica and moved to London, England as a teenager. His first encounter with singing was at the age of five years old where he performed his first solo. Having been exposed to music and singing from an early age Jason’s influence and drive to develop his gift was largely a result of his parents who were both involved in music ministry. Jason now boasts over twenty-five years performance experience, including singing backing vocals for Emelie Sande and Wretch 32.
